So, here's what I've been wondering in regards to what we learned and the baby thing: 1. Is Ben somehow the reason women on the island can't carry to term? If the island does respond to people's desires, perhaps subconsciously Ben's unresolved issues over feeling he's the cause of his mother's death are affecting every pregnancy that takes place. After all, his dad made him feel like he was this thing, this intruder who took his wife away—and that's what's literally happening to the women: their body sees the fetus as foreign to them, rather than a part of them. 2. Perhaps the island is punishing Ben and the Others for slaughtering the Dharma people: they took all those lives, and now they're unable to create lives of their own. Oh, and for those of you playing the "he seemed really familiar" game at home, Horace, the man who stopped to help Roger, Emily and baby Ben and later got Ben's dad his job and place with the DI, was played by Doug Hutchison—he also portrayed the weaselly guard Percy in The Green Mile, but i t probably better known to us scifi geeks as the extremely flexible, liver-loving Eugene Victor Tooms in two memorable episodes of The X-Files. Oh thank you. It was bugging me big time. (well not enough to actually go look it up or anything but still . . . . ) Oh I love your pregnancy spec. Neat!

Little Benry, running away to the jungle, because daddy is an asshole. Combo to the fence and a bunny to test it. Awwww. Kill him, bunny! Kill him!The whispery voices . . . and then . . . WTF? Richard? Looking like he does now? WTHWTF? So, is he one of the "hostiles"? The "natives"? Or not? And why hasn't he aged one bit, eh? Benry tells him about seeing dead mommy and he don't seem surprised. Benry tells him he hates it "there" and wants to come with him and he don't seem surprised. "You're going to have to be very patient." "We're here." OK that place is just plain creepy. Creepy creepy creepy. Don't go in there! "Once I open the door, there's no turning back. You sure this is what you want?" "So be it." Drama queen. Empty chair. That isn't empty to Benry. So, he's crazier than a jailhouse rat, then. Well, it makes sense. "Help me." Eeep! And the place goes looney - it's the island monster!! So, Jacob is the island monster? And who said "help me"? If it wasn't Benry, with a changed voice and in the midst of a psychotic break, then was it Jacob? Which means, what? Dude! This entire episode is one giant OMGWTFBBQISLANDMONSTER?! ep. Anybody else wonder if that was the same bunny that Benry tortured when he was playing Sawyer about the heart implant?
"Kill the wabbit, kill the wabbit!"
My brain is warped -- I've been in depositions in Newark four days a week since March 1 (til the end of this month!), so my perspective on lots of things is skewed, but my reaction to last night's ep is WTF? Only a few answers, and a boatload of new questions?
At this point, I'm with whoever it was (sorry, forgot!) was describing a "hate/love" relationship with this show -- I really want to love the show, and as a "stand-alone," last night was awesome -- but I'm tired of more questions. And honestly, I don't know if I can maintain interest for another three years!
Cheers all.

Hi Laura! I feel your pain. I guess love or hate is better than indifferent. The creators are saying that the last 5 minutes of the finale this year is going to make or break LOST. They didnt elaborate, but I have a feeling that half of us is going to love the ending, and the other half is going to hate it.

Ok, so I re - watched the scene in the shack with Jacob, and when Ben gets pushed, it is not until after he hits the wall and the camara goes back to the chair do we actually see Jacob. I think John saw him as well, being the main reason he bolted. You really dont get a great look at him, I paused it, and he looks like a native, long hair, maybe a beard.
If he was not there and then after he pushed Ben away from him he was there with his hands at his side. I dont know if he is a ghost or not. maybe in a different Dimension. I really dont know and wish I would quit trying to figure it out. ROFL again Damn this show and all its questions. ROFL

Anybody else wonder if that was the same bunny that Benry tortured when he was playing Sawyer about the heart implant?First, hi!! Bunny rabbit: I don't think they wiv that long . . .
Yes, I know what you mean. Maybe things will heat up enough for me to feel "full speed" about the show again. I definitely like it better than the first half of the season. Loved the Ben backstory, and the super-creepiness of it. Did he KILL Annie?? Did he make some kind of provisions for her, so she could live through the gassing? If so, where is she now? Locke!!! I hope the island "cures" him of this bullet wound. Juliet & Jack: Well, it seems they weren't in any kind of cahoots at first, but a couple of days ago or so, Juliet told him she was a mole, and now they are in some kind of cahoots. Kind of a middle of the road resolution, I guess. I still don't understand Jack's initial actions toward her though . . . not 100% sure I buy his supposed "cahootiness" with her, even now. Sayid handsome.

THAT was bloody good. And it brings back the whole "Oz" thing that goes with the Henry Gale theme. Little lying fracker. **nods nods nods to all of this!** Yeah, I think the way the Others reacted to Locke is what really sealed his fate as far as Benry was concerned. This is what I'm sayin'! Very very intriguing and scary ep!

Awwwww. It's little Benry's Island girlfriend that gave him the voo doo dolly present. "Now we never have to be away from each other." Why do I think this relationship is doomed? *snerk* Generic Dharma beer. "Kinda hard to celebrate on the day you killed your mom"?! WTF!!!! Man, dads on this show suck. Who the hell would say that to a kid? So he runs to the fence and sees dead mommy. The island monster, maybe? Showing one of it's types of faces? A gift from the big magic box? "It's not time yet, Benjamin." Hmmmm. What's with the grey line on the way to Jacob's house? Ash? Sand? Magical herbs that are keeping Jacob there, or keeping people and things away from Jacob? The plane folk meet Naomi! Hi, Naomi! "The whole world thinks we're dead?" "That's not important now!" "Don't you people want to be rescued?" Ah, they play the tape, but (conveniently?) don't play the "I hate you" bit. Or else Benry erased that. Play the other side - so they hear about the plans to attack them and grab preggos. She told Jack (supposedly recently) and he "hadn't decide what to do yet". OK. That's gonna go well. They looked like ashes to me. So, maybe Jacob fell into a burning ring of fire? I wonder if he went down down down as the flames leapt higher?

Ah, I thought I saw something resembling a man before Locke was thrown. We were talking about it and Sara was wondering if we actually did see Jacob. It appears we did. He hasn't been skinned has he? Because he looks . . . different. ;D Man! I keep getting a "too many connections" error with that link. I'll have to come back to it in a day or so when some of the furor has died downs a bit! I think that Jacob is either the Island Monster or one of them/one version of it.

They looked like ashes to me. That substance made me think of the smoke monster. Maybe that was the monster and that's where it stays and sleeps when it's not floating around scaring the bejeezus out of everybody. I really enjoyed this episode, but it seriously gave me the creeps. I loved the kid who played young Benry. He did an excellent job, IMO.

What was that? I am beyond confused. I think I need one of those super Lost theorists to explain things to me. Dude!! ;D Damn. Now that I hear about the prize . . . Can I make up some Daddy Issues?

Oooooh, that is really really an interesting idea! We really need to find out if there were baby-having problems on the island always, or if they've been there only in recent years. Well, the Island does seem to like punishing people. And there is that whole theme of who is "good" going on.

And I'll bet he did. We've seen so many instances of people healing. And yet, did Locke piss off the Island Monster enough that it'll be "no healing for you, mister"? Heeee. She said cahootiness. Oh so very very handsome. Hawaii pretty and Sayid very pretty.
