Actually, Veronica's reaction to the thought of Duncan and her...very apt.
Huh. I wonder whether they are really going to do this.

More thoughts:
I think Veronica is drinking the kool-aid in a couple of instances:
1) You can see her being seduced by the cult because of the loneliness in her life, and not seeing clearly.
2) Her readiness to believe that she's a Kane. I don't think it's any accident that this is the subplot in this episode, and makes me believe even more that Jake Kane isn't her father.

Why? So she can keep her illusions of being an heiress? I don't get it. You think she'd be more concerned about whether or not she was Duncan's sister. Liked the 'drunken conga line of genes' line. Poor Casey. Are those 'attitude adjustment' (can't remember the term he used) people really that effective? Yay for Veronica's dad!

Truth hiding under a red herring? Red herring that they want you to think is a red herring so then you switch to thinking it might be true so it turns out to really be a red herring? ;D Lola At first I was all "oh man, don't shred it!!", but then I sort of saw why she had to shred it. She's realized it really doesn't mean anything. Keith is her dad no matter what it said. Of course, she had to shred it right away because she knew if it still there, she'd look Plus, I have this fear that really - it's kinda important for her to know.

Well, and the folks at the compound all realize right away why she's there. Not 'cuz she's spying for dad, even though she is. But because she really hurting and has built this wall around herself to keep people out - but is still lonely. Lola And now you've got me thinking that, yep, Jake K is not her dad. Although . . . were they making the comparison between the rich parents who might be the actual "parents" but are not as good and nurturing as the family that you find/create? Which would fit with the whole "Kane is my dad" idea. Argggg. Grapple, grapple.

That was very sad, except for Veronica's dad. what was that poster she put on Duncan's car? I could go rewind the tape, but I'm lazy.

Or was he just mad at Veronica's part in all this? Or is he playing a part until he's old enough to leave home? Or was it just a bad morning? Lola

thing is...it wasn't a cult after all. what an unusual storyline...I really liked the message, hated what happened to the fotw. Yeah, I liked that it really was just a bunch of excessively nice people. This show is doing a nice job of keeping me guessing whether folks will turn out to be the good guys or the bad guys. Lola

It means a lot to how she's going to react to Duncan and her feelings about him if she still has them. It could be a huge clue to the murder of Lily...I think it was not brave of her to shred it. But, braver yet would be telling her dad what the creepy guy said and asking him the truth.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
So--she's decided to just be friends with Duncan?
I mean, forget the inheritance--wouldn't she want to know if she has a brother?
Back to the beginning. She wondered if Keith went after Jake as revenge....why would she automatically assume that Keith would know..if he isn't her father?
And--I STILL think it's Celeste!

If I remember right, it was a flyer about a sale or coupon for a Chinese resteraunt or something like that. **sigh** Man, I sure love Veronica's dad. He is just one great guy. Lola
