Nan, as I told you, I didn't get the show here, but I LOVED the review! Much fun to read! Thanks for the heads up.

I probably should have put a smiley face after the comment on Spike biting Andrew. I didn't really think it meant he was turned on by Andrew. Honest.

Alexandra said... What happens when he's on camera? Do you really notice the other actors as much? When he leaves a scene don't you feel that the writers could easily have written more for the character?"
Patti says...Always! I've said to everyone who will listen that James owns the screen. He is always totally there, even if he's in the background. I don't mean he's overacting - he just is 'in the scene' instead of standing waiting for his next line. Alexandra said... " I'd trade Xander in and Gunn out, but I'm probably not the majority opinion."
Patti says....I'm of the same opinion and I have wondered if Gunn IS going to leave. That thing with electro-girl last week on Angel made me wonder if that is what they are setting up. He's no longer with Fred, he's been just muscle, what can they do with his character that Wesley can't do better? Alexis D. is so VERY good on that show - he's the James Marsters of Angel. I find it hard to watch anyone else when he's on screen, and I don't have the big starry-eyed thing going for him, just think he's a really great actor. Xander would fit well, if Gunn left he could do the jabs at Angel he's so good at. Spike could work well as the extra muscle they need if Gunn leaves...and the tension between him and Angel would be fun. But you are right about the Angel fans - some don't like Spike and I would think David would not like it even though he and James are probably good friends. He already has Alexis being almost more the star of the show than he is. I guess I'll just have to wait and hope for the best.

I just remembered that there was a strong rumour earlier in the season that Nick was already kind of set to go over to Angel next year. Then his agent made the announcement that the rumour had no foundation, that no offer had been made and that Nick had no desire to go over to Angel. I remember thinking it odd that Nick Brendan would put it that strongly.

We have not slid down the Miscellaneous Board very far yet, but our posts are mounting; we are over 500 posts here in Part 14.
How much longer shall we continue with Part 14? Wait until we disappear down the Misc. Board, or wait until we hit a particular number of posts?
Once the new episodes start, we'll probably see an increase in posts, so my thinking is that the Part should move whenever we hit a certain number of posts (to be decided) or whenever we slide down too far - whichever comes first.
Comments, please, and include minimum number of posts to hit before we move. Thanks!

Actually, Nick said he hasn't been asked. He's contracted to Buffy, not Angel....so I guess it would be his decision.
Wild shot in the dark? If he isn't being considered for spinoff plans he may go ahead and sign on with the Fang Gang if a better offer doesn't come up. There are rumors that a sitcom might be in the works for him, which would obviously suit him well and potentially pay him more.
Now that I've mentioned money...clearly that's a consideration in ME's future plans. Marsters pretty much said that flat out in a recent interview. I don't know if Alyson will sign on to a spinoff if she isn't the central character, getting paid Sarah-type cash.
If they give James the opportunity, I'd imagine he'll want a significant bump in salary as well, which would frankly be overdue. From what I've been able to gather, Sarah gets the most money (naturally), followed by Alyson, Nick, James, Emma and Michelle...pretty much in that order. Length of service helps with contract leverage, I'd imagine.
My point is the actors are in a position to renegotiate with Sarah's departure. I'd be foolish to assume that anyone will be back just because I desperately want them to.
I hope money won't become an issue, but I'm sure those rumors about Sarah being offered $750,000 per episode to stay caught the ears of some actors. If that rumor was true I can't say I blame them for wanting a bigger piece of the pie.

My we post a lot in one day!!! I am still wading thru them. Teaches me to try to leave the house. *wink*
The essay suggestion is far from mine. I actually do believe it was Nan's, or at least she offered it up to the public as an activity. I jsut "post 'em." Anyway, what I am trying to say is that while I am no actual authority on the subject, it would seem to me that you should write it any darn tootin' way you want. The whole purpose of this exercise is to entertain and while away the hours while we await our favorite series to draw to a close.
Should I decide to write one (and I haven't made up my mind yet. You are all too good. I am probably best served jsut sticking to riding all your coat-tails to fame and stardom *wink*), I imagine I would write it in MY style. I think very few of us here are servants to the establishment and that we actually get off on bending the rules far enough to see where the cracks would start. As long as you aren't ripping off someone's work and presenting it as your own, who cares. (However, be aware you may suffer the wrath of our Resident Grammar Nazi, Ret. I take no responsability. *winks at Nan. Just kidding!)
Think Hemmingway...think Stephen King. It's the art of the word, the turn of the phrase. The resonance of offering vibrant full color pictures made out of little black and white squiggles that our imaginations turn into the best special effects this side of Industrial Light and Magic. Dangle your participles in places where people can see them from! *G* Don't write to me...SPEAK to me. Paint for me. Dance for me. If I want proper grammar, proper formats, I'll go read a dissertation on water ecosystems left over from my days of debate. But if I want to be entertained, make me want to come read YOUR essay.
a humble opinion from Vlad

Nan... I fully intended to tape and watch the show but alas some goof was made with the VCR (it couldnt have been ME could it? nahhhh.... not me? Mess up a simple thing like prgramming a VCR? Perish the thought!) and instead of taping Channel 4, I managed to tape Channel 3.. so I got a real nice recap of the local "Whats going on in the neighborhood, sign up for our Broadband service! and have you seen this criminal?" Good thing too, cause lord knows I would have hated to miss that! Now whenever I see a grainy squished face in public I know to run to the local phone booth and fumble for a couple quarters. It just may be the deadbeat dad or welfare fraud they are looking for!
Anyway, I haven't read the review/analysis yet but I am heading there now. I'll definitely try to catch it next week.
A very sorry Vlad...who is also upset that he missed the show *wink*

Good question, Alexandra. I've noticed that once it hits the 500 mark, uploading posts and moving from page to page slows considerably. So my suggestion is that unless we're in the middle of a focused discussion of some sort, we move when we hit 500 or slide out of sight on the Miscellaneous Board list, whichever comes first.
At your discretion, of course.

Yes, I agree with Nan. Once we are up to 500 posts or so, my system has trouble downloading my messages to the board.

I don't like it when the board goes over 500 posts. It's too hard to keep up with. Can we automatically move when the board hits that number?

I can't be home tomorrow night for Angel. I'm taping it (of course) and I'm not spoiler-free, so you don't have to curb posts for my sake.
However, my recorder isn't reliable. If anyone's taping, would you be willing to send it to me if necessary? Thanks muchly.

Not exactly spoilers, but some news about series-ending developments from Watch With Kristin (E! Entertainment Online) chat transcript from yesterday evening, "published" this morning. I posted it on the News Board (NOT the Spoiler Board). Howver, as it has implications for what is likely gonna happen vis a vis Spike/Buffy, don't look unless you want to know.
