Very unhappy a lot of the time. And oddly . . . clingy with Duncan. Could just mean she really does love him or could mean she's feeling . . . insecure? yeah, veronica-with-duncan kept reminding me of connor-with-cordelia. (and it's not just because both pairings make/made me feel queasy when i look/ed at them. ) she seems like she's either feeling insecure about her relationship or like she's trying so hard to prove it to everybody else. either way i'd say "normal is the watchword" is a very appropriate summary for this episode - normal is definitely what she's attempting to achieve here, though it's not surprisingly already falling apart on her. i can't begin to imagine what it's like to know you *didn't* die because someone else had a vendetta against you (and be left wondering if the other people *did* die for the same reason? or because someone had one against your ex?). Yep, I can see all of this as part of Veronica trying very hard to be "normal girl".

I know this is going to sound weird, but I'm actually glad she's with Duncan right now. And here's why. Duncan is her, if you pardon the Buffy comparison, Angel. They were broken up against their will and their desire, had their minds messed with, and their whole relationship called into ewwy question. Are they meant to be? No, I don't think so. Generally, you don't meet the person you're meant to be with in high school, 'cause you're still all young and unformed. But, if this doesn't get resolved, a real, every day, non-drama-rama relationship, you end up being Lianne and Jake (an apt comparison in this case), pathetically hanging on to some "dream" high school connection. Better they do this now and get it out of the way then end up like Jake and Lianne. Of course, having rewatched the pertinent season 1 eps and this premiere, I'm actually thinking that Veronica is going to end up with Weevil. **nods nods** I can totally see this. And actually, Weevil and V would be . . . kinda cool.

i've a couple of questions - first, does anyone know what the dialogue was when logan was first walking out of the courtroom? my station's feed froze for several seconds. second, was there a preview at the end? thanks! Might already have been answered, but really there was mostly just voice over by V. talking about how the guy who found Logan on the bridge never showed up for court and Logan's lawyer pushed heavily on the angle that Logan was badly beaten and in fear for his life so that even if he did stab Felix it was self defense. Prosecution decided they didn't have enough evidence and the case was dropped. And this started a larger "haves" against the "have nots" firestorm. Plus I think there was some "I'm trying hard for things to be OK, but they're not" chat from V. If I'm remembering correctly and if I understand the scene you mean.

Hee, hee - are you ready? Here are my impressions (warning it's long and at times ranty) Oh um and of course Logan Lurves older women. ;D ;D Very pod Veronica. The title says it all "normal is the watchword". She keeps acting like normal is her real goal, that she doesn't want to be pulled back into her crime solving ways. But I don't believe it. I completely see both sides. Veronica and Logan were never gonna have things smooth - not after all that happened. I don't know if Trophy Wife is a better choice - certainly not any less complicated, just complicated in a different way. Who knows how it will all end up! Absolutely. I mean, who could resist? ;D

Very unhappy a lot of the time. And oddly . . . clingy with Duncan. Could just mean she really does love him or could mean she's feeling . . . insecure? Carolyn also noted the clinginess. It just seemed very "not like Veronica" to be hanging onto Duncan's arm at the stadium. Not that she doesn't like or love Duncan - I think she does. And not that showing public affection is out of character, just . . . the way she was doing it.

Hee, hee - are you ready? Here are my impressions (warning it's long and at times ranty) Okay I think I'm done. I liked it but I'm unhappy with the continual trashing of Logan. He redeemed himself last year - he has all this dumped on him and now he gets to play jackass again? I'm disappointed. So many better ways to have gone. While I agree the VD needs closure, I'm just not going to enjoy watching it. Note to self: Rememeber shirtless Logan, shirtless Logan. ;D I don't know about "trashing", and I'm even less certain Logan "redeemed" himself. What he showed was that he had chemistry with Veronica. The boy has potential, and LoVe has passion that VD doesn't. I'm having this weird sense of deja vu all over again. While Logan isn't Spike, the two characters are similar in some ways. I have no qualms about Logan ending up with Veronica. I'd like him to show more respect and tolerance though. Growing up on the side of the non-09-ers makes me predisposed to disliking them, I guess. Could work on my own tolerance, always. Time will tell, I guess. **nods nods nods** Logan has quite a bit of maturing and changing he needs to do. And a lot of pain to overcome. Of course, that still doesn't mean that he and V are necessarily going to get together. But he needs to do it for himself.

Hi Artemis. Yes, the lack of response is really disappointing. I imagine Matthew must have watched Lost last night since there is no stream of consciousness posting. I haven't been to LJ yet so I don't know where Rae is. Hopefully this will pick up. Meg was asked to go on the limo but when she saw Veronica with Duncan she said no. I imagine class division is a big theme this year - kind of because they rubbed our faces in it. ;D I know I sound less cheerleader today but I was really, really disapointed. I expected far more from Rob. And not just in the Logan/Veronica way. I just feel like Duncan's past is whitewashed (hello sleeping with a girl you thought was your sister, no matter how trashed, leaving her alone in the morning, breaking up with her without a word and weird violent epiosdes last year) all swept away. And Logan is suddenly - hey look it's the jackass again. Been there, done that so not interested in seeing it again. The double wammy of Lost and VM is gonna make it a bit harder for me, I can tell. Last night I watched and taped VM live and DVR'd Lost. So I could comment on VM as it was happening and then watched and taped Lost off the DVR and commented as I hit commercials, just like I would if I were live. But it means that each week one of them is not gonna get "live" commentary from me, which is a bummer. Rob is already in Chicago and Matthew is likely trying to get ready for his flight, so S'cubiefest is likely taking a toll on commenting this week. Next week should pick up, I'll bet.

Hi, everyone. I'm at the library and haven't had the chance to read any posts yet, so forgive me if I repeat anyone.
Wow, I'm impressed at the swift start to the season. No dilly dallying around. A lot happening or shoehorned in as info for one hour! And all seemed very believable from the Logan at door to Logan boyfriend to breakup (go Keith - stand up for your daughter as always!) to back to Duncan. Meg's blaming Veronica, I don't know - but it's easier to blame someone else when your significant other disappoints.
Did anyone notice what looked like a yellow SUV in the background when V was talking with Weevil? Logan's SUV perhaps? He cut out on the field trip, but was he hanging around for part of it? I taped Lost while watching VM live (will tape on the Sunday rerun) so I can't check in slo-mo.
Best wishes to the S'cubiefesters. Will be waiting for reports on all the (printable) activies and feedback on Serenity.

Hey guys! Hope you all have a great summer hiatus, one which is...no longer here! #wavey# zimsham! I completely loved how RT did this storyline! It was Logan at the door . . . whoosh, but he might have killed someone! Veronica is with Logan . . . whoosh, but now she's with Duncan, hey how did that happen? Etc. Very nicely turned at each plot point. **nods nods** Add to that some of the things we've seen from the summer - Logan and her attacked in his car; her realizing that Logan is doing not very nice things and adding to the violence and tension. I can totally see why she is attempting to retreat to "normalcy". I don't think it's gonna work, but I understand the urge. I KNOW! The bus just completely wiped me!

I'm with you on this one; I was concerned how they were going to play this, because I was spoiled, etc. I guess, although I think Logan went a long way to character development last year...he's still got a long way to go, and is so angry, and so full of loss. But...I think it's healthier for Veronica, at this point, not to be with him; he needs SO much, and Veronica's got her own damage to heal, and I have very firm views about the idea of either part "rescuing" the other from themselves. I mean, after what happened with Aaron, when Logan freaked out, Veronica would have every right to wig... I completely get what you and Sharky are posting here. I just feel that they are taking Logan's character down a path that we have already gone. Hey - I don't mind being Logan's sole cheerleader over here in the corner. ;D He really has no one to help him now. Dick and an affair with a slutty trophy wife (sorry CC I am talking about your character not you) is not going to help him cope with all the trauma he is going through. Well, I agree with them while also loving my woobie Logan, so I guess I get to play in all the corners. ;D I'd like to see Veronica and Logan get back together eventually, but I can also live with them not being together, as long as they each eventually find happiness. 'Cuz they both really need it.

Wowsa. I am going to watch VM over again tonight, as I know I missed bits in the middle. This is certainly one of the most interesting shows on TV right now. I like the character-layering - no one is all bad, or all good; very Joss-esque. I can't wait for next Thursday morning. *nods very very enthusiastically* So wonderfully complex and layered and deep! I may have other guilty pleasures, but this drama I don't have to feel guilty about at all. One of the best shows on TV now.

Where's my turkey pot pie, Woman?!Hee! Well, I didn't get to watch every darn minute last night because of crzyhsestuff. Lots of surprises!! Logan was at the door - kind of? I mean Veronica expected Duncan, but was surprise it was Logan? Or did the "Logan?" question in her voice just refer to the fact that he had his back to her and wasn't turning around? Me confused. I was surprised when he kicked Weevil. Had he totally lost it at that point? And the knifing. Not sure what to make of that. Self destructive to the max, our Logan. Hoping (a little bit at least) that they's kill him? This, along with the fact that he was badly wounded and looked unconscious to me is what makes me believe that Logan didn't knife Felix. The bus accident just blew me away! Logan very pretty. Weevil verrrrry sexy. CC beautiful. Plot twists very nummy and twisty! Season's gonna be one hell of a ride. ;D

But was he following Veronica or Weevil?
