Thanks, Nan, that was a super article. The author did such a good job of comparing and contrasting both men and their respective growth arcs (I think that's what I mean) - what a good read. I'm going to pass it on to those who will appreciate it. It's wonderful to have had a TV show that inspires the kind of scholarly thought pieces I would normally associate with great literature. Here's hoping AtS inspires that level of analysis next season.

Thanks, Joshua - I love doing the analyses whether I get much feedback or not, but it is VERY nice to get feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed them, and glad to see your name in the posters column, anytime - been over to the new board? Check it out! Edited By Spring Summers at 5/28/2003 4:07:00 PM.

Hi Nan, I saw two articles from the Buzz on slayage.com, the first of which was a series summary and the second of which delved into a comparison of Angel and Spike. That's the one I thought was great. Here's the URL I used: www.the-buzz.com/b_7_21b.html. And I suspect, when I go back to look at your message, it will be the same URL that you posted but I have no way to stop and doublecheck here. I will not miss the absence of an edit button on ScoopMe! Becky Henderson

Rae, Nan, I have changed the link for my picture at the new posting board per your suggestion, Rae. Would you and also you, Nan, since you specifically couldn't see it before, go look and see if I'm visible girl there now? And let me know? Thanks! You can send me a personal message at the new board so we don't clutter up the board with stuff about ME, though I can't think of a better topic...

Patti - yes, I understand feeling sorry you can't share something you like with someone you like - but that is quite a different thing from saying you feel sorry for them. Also - do not fear that I won't be right there with you for next Season on AtS! I am unashamedly "blechy" enough to do just that. Wherever Spike goest, I shall go! I think it was part of our marriage vows.

Tried to send you an IM but the board had a hiccup and wouldn't let me. So here it is anyway, post (about) 500 of this part. You're there, just fine. You could even make your pic bigger by twiddling the two little sizing boxes next to where you put the URL of your picture, on your profile page. It's fine up to 100 in either dimension--height or width. Then you can look at it and see if the proportions are right. Congratulations! Nan

Lee says: "Is it too late to send a wedding present to "Mr. and Mrs. Big Pile of Dust"? Ha! You made me laugh a lot BUT, no laugh song for YOU! You are too wicked!

Rob - I enjoyed your new chapter. Great suspenseful ending - also plenty of funny lines that made me laugh out loud. I like that. Your Faith is especially wickedly funny - as she should be. Keep it coming . . .

I was so happy to hear that your son is doing much better. The young are *so* resilient and have such a good attitude - we could learn alot from them -- and some of us have. Someone once told me that to fight a bad disease you need strength, faith and perseverance. Words to live by, I think.

Spring said: 'Wherever Spike goest, I shall go! I think it was part of our marriage vows' Spike must be a bigamist! Or a trigamist, or something...cause I'm sure that was part of OUR marriage vows too! I am now feeling much better, Spring.

Hooray! It is all due to Rae, one of our new global moderators! Excellent global moderating, Rae! Or...patti moderating, anyway. I still don't understand why it worked sometimes, and not othertimes, before, but hey! If its not broke now,...

Your little exchange reminded me that when I first heard the two lines in Something Blue that end in "Mr & Mrs Big Pile of Dust" I always thought that since Spike's other sobriquet is William the Bloody the lines would have been even funnier as "Mr & Mrs Bloody Big Pile of Dust." But that's just me. I've heard JM say that the writers would spend half an hour deciding between one article and another so that the dialogue was exactly as they wanted it down to every "the " and "and". So the actors Always delivered the script word perfect. But one of my other favorite lines of dialogue, "Billions of people walking around like happy-meals with legs" always sounded better in my head as "....walking around like happy-meals onlegs. Don't mind me. Just musing aloud and being picky as usual. deborah
