Just saw an ad on FX for a new series starting on 'WE' (Women's Entertaiment) on Wednesday nights at 10pm Eastern. Clips were shown from Buffy! The title of my Post is the title of the new show. Disclaimer: I do not normally watch Women's Entertainment Channel, but I will make an exception to check this out. Vampires, and Buffy clips? Okedoke.

//Now you could say, OK, but he's added his human years. But of course, that would only work if Spike had been 7 years old when he was turned.// So William was 7 and Liam was 3. My goodness life in those days aged a person quickly.

//NIGHT BITES: WOMEN AND THEIR VAMPIRES This special explores the female fascination with that deadliest seducer of fiction when WE dare to ask real women across America to reveal their own often-romantic fantasies about the culture's baddest boyfriends. From the first "attractive" vampire played by Bela Lugosi to today' s super sexy vampires like Brad Pitt and Antonio Banderas' characters in "Interview With A Vampire," NIGHT BITES traces the roots of the modern vampire in the media. A variety of noted authors, aficionados, psychologists and entertainment industry veterans are featured to discuss the history of vampires in cinema, TV and contemporary culture. NIGHT BITES is produced by Essential Entertainment// From the WE website

Dave said: Don't forget, according to various Mutant Enemy dates given, Liam was three years old when Darla sired him. He was one seriously mature looking toddler, don't you think? LOL! No, I hadn't read that one! Yikes! Puts the Annoying One to shame!

David: Either that, or the demon population was so prolific she started having the cramps nonstop and just chose to ignore them David! I think you've figured out why Buffy got crankier and crankier as the series went on! THAT would do it!

Spring postulated: As Joss has said - he sucks at Math. Plus, I don't think he gives a hoot about that sort of consistency. Also, the age confusion actually could be a deliberate reference to the JM age confusion, as I think Joss did quite a bit of adding bits and pieces of what was real about the actors into the storyline Now that would be too fun! Joss is sneaky enough to have done that!

Wouldn't it be cool if they interviewed James Marsters....but they won't.

Yes patti- I fear you are right- they probably won't interview JM - and it is unfortunate b/c he has always had some fairly fascinating things to say on the subject of women's passion for Spike/himself/badboys in general- I wish they would publish a biography/interview with him- he is by far one of the most interesting actors in terms of talking about his craft and his latest role- ellie

(This is an historic post.) Here is Angel's timeline, as compiled by Buffy the Vampire Slayer magazine. A note -- these are only the dates as they relate to Angel, Darla, Drusilla and Spike and their dates of siring. BtVS magazine also included all the stuff about Holtz, which I left out just to keep it simple. But I added some notes about other times Angel or Spike's ages have been approximated. 1609, Virginia Colony -- Darla is sired by the Master. "Darla" 1753, Ireland -- Liam is thrown out of his father's house, and into the arms of Darla who sires him. "The Prodigal" 1760, London -- Darla introduces Angelus to the Master. "Darla" {a sidenote -- Buffy and Willow discovered the watcher's diary with the picture of the noblewoman date 1775, in "Halloween". Willow muses that in 1775, Angel would have been 18 and still human (giving him a birthyear of 1757, four years after being sired by Darla in 1753). However, she is apparently working off of the assumption that Angel was truly 240 when Giles discussed his entries in the watchers diaries, in "Angel".} 1860, London -- Darla introduces Angelus to Drusilla. Angelus drives her mad before turning her. "Dear Boy" 1880, London -- Drusilla sires William. "Darla" {Another side note -- Giles said that Spike was 200, in "School Hard", putting him at the ripe age of 78 when Drusilla sired him. Spike himself said he was 126 in "The Initiative", making him six years old when he was sired} 1898, Romania -- Darla brings a young gypsy girl to Angelus, and he feeds. Her clan curse him, and Angel is born. "Five By Five" 1900, China -- Angel tries to reunite with the group during the Boxer Rebellion, when Spike kills his first slayer. Darla tests Angel by giving him a baby to feed on -- he takes the baby and runs away. "Darla"

Rob, please hang in there. We'd hate to lose you. It seems impossible that Joss would use everybody except Xander. I can't imagine everything next season is decided and fixed in stone. Plus you can write Xander in. I think the summer is 'finish our fics' season. If you move away to the Slough of Despond who will read my stuff?

//I mentioned the same thing earlier - that some vampire mythology holds that the power of the new vamp is influenced by how much blood the sire gives them. So the length of time in the grave could follow that, too. // I can totally buy that. Another thing that I can't quite put my finger on is they type of vamp they are. William was such a "nancy boy", but as a vamp - "big and bad" (his own words". How much of that is the demon in him and how much is it the William in him so wanting to be so opposite of what he was. Same for Angelus -- While Liam certainly wasn't a choirboy, I don't think he was so inherently evil like Angelus was. So what made him that was when he was turned?
