Rob, The 'Slough of Despair' is from Pilgrim's Progress, and Rusty just 'jossed' it.

I fully plan to keep writing. I just needed a little positive reinforcement, so I did a little pathetic begging. Thanks. You may well have a point about Faith having a spinoff series of her own if her current project flops; my only concern with that would be where Xander fits in there. The thing about Xander is his powerful connection to the Summers family. It's hard to imagine him leaving Buffy and Dawn under any circumstances. The only possible exception to that rule would be Willow, and I think Alyson is ready to take a shot at other things...at least for the time being. All speculation, of course. There's always a chance that we will see them all again in the form of a theatrical series. That is my dream. Sadly, for this to happen we almost have to root against them doing well in their other projects. I'm really torn about that. I want to see them all become mainstream superstars AND make BTVS films. This may be asking too much, though.

Just caught up! (At least on part 33). Maybe tomorrow I'll attempt some responses. Great discussions. Have to go read 17+ articles on slayage. Don't suppose you guys could still manage to be on part 33 in the morning? Probably not. Have fun Sue

"As for types of vampires, ... we've seen three so far on the show. There's the standard Buffyverse vampire... The Turok-Han, aka, the ubervamp... Vampire #3 is Dracula and his brood. Fangs always exposed, never going into game face. Decidely different from the other vampires in the Buffyverse..." Yes, and there are also two classes of standard Buffyverse vamps. There's the underclass or minion vamp, who seldom if ever goes into human face. The minion is usually stupid, slow and relatively easily beaten/staked even by non-slayers. Then there's the aristocrat such as the vamps of Aurelius' line (i.e. Darla, Angelus, Spike, et.al.) There must be other aristrocratic lines, but that's the only one I can think of at this hour. These vamps are smart, cunning, strong and excellent fighter/survivors. Even a Slayer has her hands full fighting one.

One last JM quote on how HE thought Spike felt during much of season 7 //I don’t know! See, Spike doesn’t want Buffy anywhere near him right now because he is bad – he feels horrible, I think. If I was a vampire and I woke up to the fact that I had killed all these women and kids, I’d feel pretty bad. I really wouldn’t want my love to be dirtied by that so it is quite possible Spike is going to keep her really far away from him if possible// ellie

Actually, Patti, I think it's the The 'Slough of Despond.' Your source, Pilgrim's Progress, is correct.

Diane said: Yes, and there are also two classes of standard Buffyverse vamps. There's the underclass or minion vamp...and the aristocratic class...' These two classes are also known as the 'ugly vamp' class, who get staked, and the 'pretty vamp' class, who get storylines, arcs, and sex.
