Much as I love all of you, there are times when I get really, really tired of being the Mom of the S'cubies... your turn to be a princess then To wit: The Anne Thread

*Relieved, makes happy, squealy noise* *jumps up and down* *adjusts spotlessly white pinafore* *dashes to Three-Year-Old Corner* *pets all the animals* *climbs on sofa to reach top shelf, attempts to liberate crayons, paints, glitter, glue, tape and paper* *shelf loosens from anchors and crashes to floor spilling all of the above into huge sticky, glittery mess* *sees glue, glitter, paint covered pinafore* *sees tiny scratch on knee* *notices three drops of blood*
*HOWLS* *Sigh* *Tucks small howling Diane under one arm and carries her to sofa* *Applies sparkly glittery purple bandaid to Diane's knee, comforts Diane and tucks her into nap corner with her cuddly Spikey doll* *Waves Mr Bolty at shelf, which immediately restores itself and contents to proper places* *Collapses on sofa* *Wonders if the sun is over the yardarm yet* *Decides that 5:47AM is too early for gin and tonics, settles for nice cup of tea* Much as I love all of you, there are times when I get really, really tired of being the Mom of the S'cubies... But nobody else can do it so well... *sigh*Okay, I promise 3-year-old Diane will behave herself for the rest of the day. Mostly.

I second that emotion. Yeah, except that you have to "third" it because I already put my 2 cents in by linking to Anne's special thread. (starting a slap fight with Diane) Oh, wait, this is what we're supposed to be giving her the day off from. [Grammar Nazis go nuts.]

I'm in the Three Year Old Corner with the tiger taking a nap. You'd have to wake me up and anyone who knows me also knows what a BIG mistake that would be. And I also don't care if I'm seconding or thirding.

Remembers who would have to clean up the mess.* *Glitterbombs Sue and Diane instead* all of you. Wish me luck, I have to wrangle cats this morning, and the girls both leave too early to help.

Both cats have been successfully wrangled (although I had to chase Shadow all around the back yard) and taken to the dentist. They wanted them back in three months, but I think that's too often for any of us, so I scheduled an appointment in five months.
They're senior cats, and they're still faster and stronger than I am. Not fair. I'm getting too old for this sort of thing...

Anna is back from her great Missouri Adventure as of last night, and has the rest of the week off (they'd originally planned... well, originally they were going to Amsterdam on his Aunt's penny, and then decided to go to MO instead, and then his parents were going to Boise... it's a complicated life, so anyway she had two weeks off) and were gone one week and two weekends.
I'm hoping for some chicken accomodation building help, stranger things have happened, right?
I don't need a mom, Anne, just a general contractor...
Julia, and to get over this stupid cold

Still enjoying Lost Girl. It has it's ups and downs, strengths and weaknesses (I don't like the lady doctor) but for a freshman season it's fairly strong.
Still think Dyson has charisma in spades. And I really really like the young guy for whom the banshee wailed.
Kinzie is more magnetic for me than Bo. Like the hints at the bigger mystery.
Not safe for children. Definitely a cable show.

For anyone who was a "Dark Shadows" fan (the original 60s show, not the remake), the new Depp/Burton collaboration looks to be pretty amusing. Enjoy:

Well said. Also think the doc has issues. I like the wee barkeep. Is he a leprechaun? Well, I've always had a weakness for them. Yes, there are many secrets within secrets among the fae. I can see why Bo doesn't want to align. Even the "light" fae are problematic. Loved her meeting with another succubus last night. I'm having issues with "Being Human". Both of them. I hate that they killed off 3/4 of the Britcast, left Annie and brought in the two thugs, neither of whom have even an iota of the charisma of their predecessors (and I didn't think George had all that much). The Americast is also problematic. The whole "Authority" and "royalty" plot feels like a direct lift from True Blood. I'm vastly amused by Kyle Schmid pretty much reprising his role from "Blood Ties"--even to having the same name.

I had a good friend who loved Dark Shadows. ALL: Had quite a day in Huntsville today!! See the details on my blog, here.ONJEL: Monnie gave me a tour of the University of Alabama-Huntsville, which made us remember our fun tour of the University of Michigan. That will always be a good memory.
