Natalie French: The praying mantis is a fascinating creature. Forced to live alone.
Xander: I see. So if she's not human she's...?
Buffy: Technically? A big bug.Welcome to Part 1141 of the Soulful Spike Society Main Thread!!! Relax. Have a martini. We're not California Praying Mantises, and you're not forced to live alone here, but that doesn't mean you're not fascinating. So is our website where you'll find a host of essays, reviews, commentary and fan fiction written by our very own S'cubies, including our very own Queen Bee E, for hours of solitary fun. ;D If certain topics of the day bug you and you don't want to be alone, go here where you can rant, get out the bug spray, call an exterminator have deep discussion about them, with others of like sentiment or opposing beliefs. Creepy crawlies can be found everywhere, especially in some of our favorite television shows and we have a special place to talk about them as we cluster around the egg sacs. If you want to avoid driving us buggy, risk having your heads bitten off or having us screech in your ears like bat sonar, please be sure to play nice, read the Rules and avoid posting spoilers anywhere but under the ghost button provided for your convenience, or in Spoiled Souls. Fail to do these things and you might find the phrase "squashed like a substitute teacher in Sunnydale bug" to be prophetic. ;D

And why does it NOT surprise me that be was first? Thanks, Onjel, great opener. That's a classic. 13 hours until we leave the house for the airport. I'll be able to check my email at Barb's house but not much from Thursday-Monday. Y'all hold down the fort and carry on. I posted some comments on the Eureka and Fringe threads. Lots of good TV this week. Both of those. Liked Castle. Lost Girl is good anytime Dyson has screen time. (Since I don't get True Blood or any of those HBO/Showtime shows this is the first (only?) male actor I've seen that could give James Marsters a run for his money on smouldering heat.

Trying to live in the moment. I don't like stress so I'm hoping we don't encounter any "situations." Everybody seems pretty laid back. The biggest stress so far was choosing the bridesmaids dresses (Sarah was trying to keep cost down and Carolyn and Allie both don't really like the dress -- Allison because it is a horrid style for her; Carolyn because it's like her 13th bridesmaid dress and she wanted Sarah to embrace the "wear whatever dress you want" trend. I think that is all behind us now. Once they get back from the honeymoon then they have to immediately start looking for a new apartment -- not that they couldn't just renew Tom's lease but it's not terribly convenient for Sarah's job.

Oh, and, Cabin In The Woods got a 3.5 star (out of 4) review in my local paper. Reviewer was very positive, but said he couldn't really say much without giving stuff away.
It's getting a 92% from the critics on Rotten Tomatoes and 81% from the audience. Also, was #3 grossing last week.

I wish I was not such an utter wuss so I could go see it.
Must go get my wet sheep now.
Julia, such a thrilling life I lead!

Coughing mostly reduced. Unfortunately, so is voice. I now honk instead of cough and have about 2/3 voice that sounds like Jo Lupo married June Allyson and they had a baby.
Too muddle-headed to note everyone's activities, but I HAVE been reading them. Onjel, is this part-opener a rerun of a classic from years past? I think that's a fantastic idea. Maybe over the summer we could do some re-runnage of great part openers.
There might be sleep. I sincerely hope so.

This morning I'm nearly voiceless. The coughing frequency is reduced, but it's dry. Don't feel bad, just tired and a little sore-throaty.
Am trying to do a little pre-cleaning out of the cubicle. It's amazing how much crap you can accumulate in a 6x8 foot space. My ambition is to get it down to four boxes or less. I will be leaving a lot of shit behind.
I mean that in a number of different ways.

I start having weeks of nightmares at the "Abbott and Costello Meet the Wolfman" level, though. There are a lot of episodes of BtVS and more of AtS that I can only rewatch with fastforward through the really scary stuff. Julia, I get worse, I get better, I'm in a stretch of worse right now.
